Catalysis Research Center, Hokkaido University has been renewed on April 1998 and reorganized to consist of three sections. In of the sections, Section of Catalyst Function Design, a new laboratory "Laboratory of Catalytic Reaction Chemistry" was founded. As a Professor in the laboratory, Bunsho OHTANI, who was an associate professor in Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University, was selected. He started working on September 1, 1998, and is now preparing this new laboratory with cooperation with new staff and a graduate student. A signboard [81K] saying "Ohtani's Laboratory" made by Ohtani's brother-in-law, a painter-printer. This was a gift when Ohtani became a research associate in Kyoto University, the first academic carrier and became a suitable signboard 13 years after the gift. We are now aiming at both fundamental and applied studies on catalytic reactions and presentation of the results in a casual style like the signboard. In order to inform our activity, we are trying to make a friendly homepage. Please let us know your opinion. (December 18, 1998 when this homepage was founded) |

Catalysis Research Center is one of the three Joint-Use Research Organization for the Promotion of the Nationwide Cooperative Research founded in Hokkaido University. We promoted a half-year program "Catalytic Science Course" which is jointly run with the Japan International Cooperative Agency up to the financial year of 2001. Please see the details of organization on the homepage of this center. Our laboratory, Laboratory of Catalytic Reaction Chemistry, belongs to Section of Catalyst Function Design. Also, teaching staff in our laboratory is working for Graduate School of Environmental Earth Science (Division of Material Science) and we accept the graduate students. Please see page of [member] of our web page. |
